Pro tip: If you’re going far, agree on the fare first!

Beyond Tagbilaran: Alternative Ferry Ports in Bohol for Tourists
- Tubigon Port
Tucked up in northern Bohol, this is your go-to if you want to skip Tagbilaran’s crowds. Ferries from Cebu (mostly Lite Shipping and FastCat) take 1.5–2 hours. Downside? If you’re headed to Panglao or Tagbilaran City, tack on another 2 hours by road.
- Getafe Port
Also up north, this one’s the fastest ferry route from Cebu (just 1h 15min with OceanJet). But fair warning: the ride to Panglao or Tagbilaran is a loooong 2.5 hours by land.
- Jagna Port
Down in southeastern Bohol, Jagna is less touristy but super handy if you're off to Camiguin or Mindanao.

How to Get to Bohol from Cebu
If you want to know how to get to Bohol from Cebu Airport and downtown, as mentioned above, ferry is the most extensive and convenient option.
Now, if you’re already hanging out in southern Cebu, say around Oslob, you don’t have to backtrack all the way to Cebu City. It’s a bit off the beaten path, but totally worth it if you’re up for a shortcut.

How to Get to Bohol from El Nido
If your schedule lines up, you might be lucky enough to catch a direct flight from El Nido Airport to Bohol Panglao Airport. But don’t count on it, these flights aren’t daily.

How to Get to Bohol from Coron
Coming from Coron? There are no direct flights to Bohol, so your best bet is to transit through Cebu. It’s a quick 1.5-hour flight to Cebu, and well, you probably know the drill by now, a 2-hour ferry will get you to Bohol.
Another option? Fly back to Manila first and catch a direct flight to Panglao Island. Fewer flights, more expensive tickets, so book early if that’s your plan. And hey, Coron’s airport is tiny, and so are the planes, don’t leave ticket booking to the last minute.

How to Get to Bohol from Boracay
If you’ve started your Philippines adventure in Boracay and are heading to Bohol next, things are pretty straightforward. You guessed it: fly to Cebu, then hop on a ferry to Bohol. It’s the usual route and works like a charm.

Technically, you could fly back to Manila and then catch a direct flight to Bohol, especially if you’re not a fan of ferries. But let’s be honest, that’s a bit of a detour (unless seasickness is a dealbreaker for you, in which case, the extra cost might be worth it).
Pro tip? Hit Bohol first for all the adventure, think island-hopping and nature. Then unwind on Boracay’s beaches later. Trust us, it’s a smoother way to balance thrill and chill.
How to Get to Bohol from Dumaguete
Planning a Visayas Loop trip? If you’re set on getting to Bohol straight from Dumaguete, the ferry is your best (and really, only) choice. Depart from the Port of Dumaguete City, and in about two hours, you’ll reach Tagbilaran City Tourist Port. Easy enough.
But if you’re after the ultimate island experience, we usually suggest starting from Cebu, exploring Bohol first, then hopping to Siquijor before heading to Dumaguete. From there, you could fly back to Manila or head to southern Cebu for some whale shark spotting in Oslob before circling back to Cebu City.
