Huashan North Railway Station(华山北站) is located about 5 kilometers or 3 miles to the Mount Huashan.
If you choose public transport take Special Bus line 1 or 2 to get to Mount Huashan Visitor Centre. These bus routes are free but do note both buses will take you through Huashan city area so expect longer travel time up to 50 minutes and longer wait time.
Taxi is more recommended to get to Huashan from North Railway station. You can always take taxi to Mount Huashan for 10 to 20 RMB. Taxi would take less 10 minutes to get to Huashan Visitor Centre.

As of Sep 2024 there is a new direct bus route from Xi'an to Mount Huashan. You can take bus from Xi'an Fangzhicheng Coach Station(西安纺织城客运站) to Mount Huashan parking lot for around 40 RMB.
The travel time to Mount Huashan would be about 1.5 hours. Earliest departure is 7:30, while the latest departure would be 19:30. The interval between services would be 60 minutes or more. They may wait longer for more travelers.
