Beijing to Taiyuan Train Railway Stations
Although Beijing has 7 stations and Taiyuan has 2, almost all of the daily high-speed trains between the two cities depart from and arrive at only two stations: Beijing Fengtai Railway Station and Taiyuannan Railway Station. You only need to remember these two.
Departure Station: Beijing Fengtai Railway Station (北京丰台站)
This station offers more Beijing to Taiyuan high-speed (G) trains than any other station in Beijing. As a comprehensive transportation hub, it serves both high-speed and conventional trains. Located at No. 4 Zhengyang Street, Fengtai District, Beijing, passengers can take Metro Line 10 to Fengtai Station, exit from Exit D, and walk 300 meters to reach the station. Approximately 20 high-speed trains depart from Beijing to Taiyuan daily. To avoid missing your train, arrive at the station at least 40 minutes early.
Arrival Station: Taiyuannan Railway Station (太原南站)
These Beijing-Taiyuan bullet trains arrive at Taiyuan South Railway Station. It is located on the F2 floor of Taiyuan South Station, East Entrance, Nan Zhonghuan Street, Xiadian District, Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, China.
Please pay attention to the English announcements on the high-speed train. Get off at Taiyuan South Station on time. Most trains do not terminate at Taiyuan, so don't miss your stop.

Head to Taiyuan Attractions after Getting off Beijing to Taiyuan Train
Beijing to Taiyuan Jinci Temple: Jinci Temple (晋祠) is the most famous attraction in Taiyuan. The millennium-old cypress tree, the Nanlao Spring, and the colorful clay sculptures are the must-see points. If you're coming to Taiyuan, most people start their trip here. When you get to Taiyuan South Station from Beijing, just hop on bus 79 and it'll take you straight to Jinci Temple. The bus ride is about 2 hours, but if that's too long, you can always grab a Didi, like an Uber.
Beijing to Shanxi Museum: The Shanxi Museum (山西博物馆) is a national first-class museum that rivals Beijing's Capital Museum. It houses a vast collection of artifacts, including Buddhist statues, bronzeware, murals, ceramics, and stone sculptures. From Taiyuannan Railway Station, you can take bus 868 and get off at Yingzeqiao West Station. The museum is a 930-meter walk from the bus stop, which takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Beijing to Taiyuan Ancient County: From railway station, you can head to Taiyuan Ancient County (太原古县城), also renowned for the "Phoenix City", an ancient county with a history of over 630 years. Take the No. 79 bus for about an hour and 15 minutes and get off at Jinyuan Station. From there, it's a short 600-meter walk to your destination.
Beijing to Taiyuan Shuangta Temple: Shuangta Temple (双塔寺) is an iconic landmark in Taiyuan. At first glance, the two towers resemble twin brothers. Both are typical hollow brick pagodas with an octagonal base and 13 stories, standing at a height of over 50 meters. These two pagodas are among the few ancient pagodas that can still be climbed. To get there from the train station, take bus No. 23 and get off at Yongzuo Xijiekou Station. The journey takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Besides high-speed trains, Taiyuan also has an international airport. There are direct flights from Beijing to Taiyuan every day, but the departure time is always at 6:35 AM, which is not very convenient for tourists' schedules.
