How to Get to Jiuzhaigou from Chengdu (3 Ways)
Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou High-Speed Train: 2-hour train + 2-hour drive
You can take a high-speed train from Chengdu East Railway Station to Jiuzhai Huanglong Railway Station within 2 hours. Then take a shuttle bus or private car to Jiuzhaigou Valley within another 2 hours.
Note: It takes 30 minutes to drive from Jiuzhai Huanglong Railway Station to Huanglong Scenic Area. After exploration, it’ll takes another 2 hours to drive from Huanglong to Jiuzhaigou Valley.
Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou High Speed Train: Best Way to Jiuzhaigou
Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou by Overland: 6-8-hour drive
You can also drive from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou Valley. Currently, two highway routes are available: one route passes through Wenchuan and Songpan County, while the other route goes via Mianyang City and Pingwu County. Each route takes about 6-8 hours to travel from Chengdu Downtown to Jiuzhaigou Valley.
Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou by Air: 1-hour transfer to Airport + 1-hour flight + 2-hour drive
Currently, the flight from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou departs from Tianfu International Airport, which is new but far from Chengdu Downtown. The flight travel time is even longer than that of the high-speed train. Therefore, if you begin your journey from Chengdu Downtown, it is advisable to opt for a high-speed train rather than a flight to Jiuzhaigou.
