Xian
After breakfast, our team will pick you up at your hotel. Start your 1 day Xi'an cultural tour at a relaxed pace, no rushed schedules for exploring the city's top cultural spots.
Drive 40km (about 1 hour) to the Terracotta Warriors Museum. There are over 8,000 clay soldiers, chariots and horses here, guarding Qin Shihuang for 2,000 years and discovered by a farmer in 1974. Your guide takes you to Pit One, Two and Three, sharing detailed historical insights.
Make your own miniature terracotta warrior with a local potter's guidance. Follow the steps by hand to learn Qin Dynasty pottery making techniques and the related cultural background of these artifacts. Have lunch at a local restaurant near the museum.
In the afternoon, drive back to downtown Xi'an and visit Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, a Tang Dynasty landmark built for Buddhist scripture preservation. Get fitted with elegant Hanfu (various styles and sizes available) to explore the pagoda's grounds, square and Tang-style gardens.
Your guide points out the best photo spots for Hanfu and ancient architecture. You'll also learn the pagoda's 1,300-year history, Xuanzang's scripture journey from India and its role in Tang Buddhist culture.
Head to Great Tang Everbright City (optional). This pedestrian street recreates Tang Xi'an's vibe, with Tang-style buildings, neon lights, traditional street shows and small craft shops.

I just came back from the 30-Day China Panorama Tour from Guangzhou with Asia Odyssey Travel, and it was truly one of the most memorable trips I’ve ever joined.
From the moment I landed in Guangzhou, everything was well-coordinated. The local guide greeted us at the airport and made us feel welcome right away. We started with classic Cantonese highlights like the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, Lychee Bay, and traditional dim sum — a great introduction to southern China’s culture.
The route that followed was impressive. We cruised along the Li River in Guilin, cycled through Yangshuo’s peaceful countryside, and admired the Longji Rice Terraces. In Yunnan, Dali and Lijiang’s old towns were full of character, with snow-capped mountains in the distance. Chengdu was all about pandas and Sichuan food, Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong looked like scenes from a painting, and Chongqing’s mountain city views were unforgettable. The trip ended with Beijing’s Great Wall and Forbidden City, and Shanghai’s skyline — the perfect contrast of history and modern life.
Everything ran smoothly throughout. The guides were professional and friendly, the hotels were clean and comfortable, and transportation was efficient. This tour was incredible. We were skeptical about combining Vietnam's slow-paced beauty with China's massive scale, but the contrast was brilliant. Ho Chi Minh City to Shanghai's towering skyline felt like a time warp! Seeing history at the Forbidden City and the Terracotta Warriors was profoundly moving, while the natural grandeur of the Zhangjiajie mountains was simply unforgettable. The flights and rail connections were perfectly organized, easing any stress for our older family members. Truly an epic expedition guided by real experts.
Seriously the best month of our gap year. We called it the "banana route" because of the way we traveled from the chaos and charm of Vietnam right into the futurism of Shanghai and then into the refined order of Japan (Nara's deer were everything!). The planning done by the team was flawless. We got to see three totally distinct worlds: the temples of Hanoi, the Great Wall of China, and the shrines of Kyoto. All without worrying about Visas or logistics. We want a huge, eye-opening adventure, this is the one.
Our agent Chia is simply the best! She was in contact with us every step of the way from the time we committed to the Beijing - Xian - Chengdu - Lhasa - Shanghai tour. There was absolutely no stress with the entire tour ie. Pick ups, train/ plane tickets, payments. Each time Chia was able to answer any questions that we had almost immediately. The tour itself was great, met some really nice people from different parts of the world. Groups were a maximum of 12 so the guides were always very attentive - in Tibet, we only had 3 left in the group. We have travelled quite extensively but this is the first time we have engaged in a tour and it certainly did not disappoint. Highly recommended!
We have gone to China for an exciting 17-day travel covering 10 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, something for a lifetime. Trip was a personalized and was well planned, coordinated and executed by Catherine Wang. We were truly amazed by her patience for nearly 2 months to communicate with us, answering our queries and plan this whole trip.
As for the trip, it went well with the pick-up in Beijing and reorganizing the Beijing sites visit when there was the 80 years celebration parade in Tiananmen square. Perfectly done and start with a bang.
We have travelled in places like Xi'an, Zhangjiajie, Chengdu, Dazu-Chongquing, Three Gorges Cruise, Yichang and finally end up in Shanghai. Every place was magnificent specially those we visited.
In every place we have the comfort due to knowledgeable guides and efficient drivers. They played a fantastic role in the whole 17 days of our trip in China.
Our heartfelt regards to tour organizer Catherine Wang for managing such a fantastic tour of a lifetime. We will definitely pursue more visits in the coming years.
