Coron Location Map: Where is Coron Palawan, Philippines Located?

Coron Location Map
Coron Location Map

Let's look at your map together. Coron sits in the western Philippines, about 300km southwest of Manila. Trace your finger down from Manila to find it in northern Palawan - that long island stretching toward Malaysia.

Coron isn't on Palawan's mainland, but in the Calamian Islands at Palawan's northern tip. It's north of El Nido (6 hours by boat) and west of Mindoro Island.

When people say "Coron", they mean 2 areas:

  • Coron Town on Busuanga Island with the airport and hotels
  • Coron Island itself with its famous lagoons and lakes, plus about 50 small islands around them.

From Coron Town, you'll see the beautiful Coron Island across the water - its tall limestone cliffs rising from the sea. Between them lie dozens of small islands perfect for island hopping adventures. The whole area forms a stunning bay dotted with places to explore by boat.

Smith Point Beach: It offers pristine white sand and excellent snorkeling opportunities

Green Lagoon: The secluded Green Lagoon charms visitors with its emerald waters trapped within limestone walls.Beach 91 and Atwayan Beach: Those provide perfect spots for swimming and sunbathing, with fewer crowds than other locations.

Area between Coron Island & Coron Town: WWII Wreck

The waters between these islands hold Coron's famous shipwrecks (12+ WWII vessels, especially near Lusong Island) - making this the Philippines' top dive destination.

Lusong Coral Garden dazzles with its vibrant marine life, while the Lusong Gunboat and East Tangat Wreck provide fascinating glimpses into World War II history, all lying in relatively shallow waters perfect for both diving and snorkeling adventures.

The area is also famous for its hidden beaches and snorkeling spots, like Siete Pecados Marine Park and CYC Beach, all accessible by island-hopping tours from town.
