The Li River cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo is 83 kilometers long. You will spend approximately 4 hours on a ferry. During the rainy season, the water level is high and the cruise time may be less than 3.5 hours. During the low season, the cruise time may be longer. Your lunch will be served on the ferry at around 12 pm.

4. Where to board a Li River cruise from Guilin?

If you take a 3-star Li River cruise, it departs from Mopanshan Pier (磨盘山码头) and arrives at Shuidongmen dock in Yangshuo. However, if you opt for a 4-star Li River cruise, it starts from Zhujiang Pier (竹江码头) and arrives at Longtoushan dock in Yangshuo.

It takes approximately 1 hour to travel from the Guilin downtown area to the respective piers. Please ensure you allocate enough time for transportation.

China with Asia Odyssey Travel and Mandy

We made a trip with Asia Odyssey Travel in August 2025 throughout China ( Macao_Hong-Kong_Guilin_Xian_Beijing_Shanghai. We were a group of 5 families, in total 17 people, from Spain. The tour was fantastic, thanks to our Travel Agent/Consultant Mandy. She is very professional, effective in her work, fast, friendly, and she adapted the trip to our group.
Everything during our trip was very well scheduled, all the tour guides were nice, the hotels great, the transport and everything very well organized.
Mandy took a great interest in our trip and made our experience wonderful. We had a nice time in China.
In a few words, she made a great work and it wasn´t easy as we were a big group and we needed Spanish speaking tour guides, something that she got without problem.
I recommend Asia Odissey Travel and of course Mandy!
