Ciqikou Ancient Town (磁器口古镇): This is an ancient town with a history spanning a thousand years. Within the town stands Baolun Temple, where an emperor of the Ming Dynasty once sought refuge and lived in seclusion. Beyond the temple, various shops and streets retain their ancient decorative styles.
Three Gorges Museum (三峡博物馆): This place tells the story of the Three Gorges region from ancient times to the present day. A jawbone fossil represents the roots of ancient Chinese people, bearing witness to early human evolution. That imposing Wuyang Stone (a type of ancient gate tower), along with a gold seal engraved with "Seal of the Lieutenant General," are both important evidence of ancient Chinese culture. Hongya Cave (洪崖洞): This is a cluster of stilt houses built along the riverbank - you absolutely must see it at night! At night, Hongyadong is like a golden fairyland, brilliantly illuminated, with layered stilt houses built into the mountainside. This is a real-life scene from Spirited Away.
Qiansimen Bridge (千厮门大桥): Spanning the Jialing River, connecting the Yuzhong Peninsula and the Jiangbei District, it's a bustling bridge linking Chongqing's CBD. When night falls, the entire bridge is adorned with dazzling lights, making both banks a near-permanent fixture for photography enthusiasts.
Jiefangbei (解放碑): This is Chongqing's most iconic landmark, built to celebrate China's victory over Japan in World War II. Big celebrations are held here, like New Year's Eve.
E'Ling Park (鹅岭公园): This is the private garden of a wealthy Chongqing merchant from the late Qing Dynasty. When you go into the park, the main thing to see is the traditional Chinese garden design.
Dazu Rock Carvings (大足石刻): These are carvings of Confucian, Buddhist, and Taoist figures, made by monks and officials way back when. Besides the religious stories, those carvings also show everyday life from ancient times.
Wulong Three Natural Bridges (武隆天生三桥): These three natural stone bridges, shaped by karst formations, are more like giant rock tunnels. The scenery between the bridges is definitely worth seeing.
Wulong Longshuixia Gap (龙水峡): This is a natural crack in the earth. It's a great place to see streams, plants, and enjoy the fresh air.
