Do I need to get a visa to visit Bhutan? Any other costs and rules?

Visa Requirements: For most nationalities, a visa is required to enter Bhutan. This visa can be obtained through a licensed Bhutanese tour operator, such as Asia Odyssey Travel. Additionally, you will need to pay the visa fee of $40 and the Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) of $100 per night, which is effective from September 1, 2023, until August 31, 2027. Please contact us to begin the Bhutan visa application process.

Visa Exemption (with permit and SDF requirements): Indian, Bangladeshi, and Maldivian nationals are exempt from obtaining a visa to enter Bhutan. However, they still need to arrange for a permit and pay the Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) in advance.

For travelers who want to visit Bhutan, it is recommended to book the tour with us at least one month in advance.

How many days for a classic Bhutan tour?

A classic Bhutan tour typically lasts between 6 to 10 days, allowing ample time to explore the country's captivating destinations. Begin in Western Bhutan with around 2 days in Paro, followed by Thimphu (1-2 days) and Punakha (1-2 days). To delve deeper into Bhutan's cultural heritage, head to central Bhutan for 1-2 days to visit Trongsa and Bumthang. The whole trip was fabulous

The whole trip was fabulous. I contacted with my advisor Kayla, she’s very supportive all the way. I spent the best birthday time ever in such a special place. My driver wangchuk and guide Cheni are very experienced, they gave me a lot of suggestions on how to explore both the cultural and natural environment in Bhutan. The hotel is over expectation as well. We booked for three stars but somehow we had a four stars experience. We stayed in very beautiful resort and could make some fire on our own. I definitely would like to visit more and more in the future.
