- It is an important railway station in Tibet, serving as the terminus of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, the world's highest railway.
- Located on Tongzhan Road in Duilongdeqing District, Lhasa, it is approximately 13 kilometers from downtown Lhasa and 7 kilometers from the Potala Palace. Passengers can take bus lines 1 or K04, which takes about 5 hours, or a taxi, which takes about 26 minutes, to reach the station.
- There are six trains departing from Lhasa Station to Naqu daily, with the earliest departure time at 9:25 AM and the latest at 7:00 PM.
