Where is Gyeongju Situated? Gyeongju Location on Map
Gyeongju is located in the southeastern part of South Korea, approximately 200 kilometers from Seoul. It is surrounded by mountains on three sides and faces the Sea of Japan to the east. Its latitude roughly ranges from 35°34' to 37°33' North, similar to cities like Washington D.C. and Tokyo.

Bulguksa Temple (佛国寺): Also a UNESCO World Heritage site, Bulguksa Temple is one of South Korea's most famous temples, representing the Buddhist culture of the Silla Dynasty. You can admire exquisite architecture, intricately carved sculptures, and enjoy the temple's serene atmosphere.
Seokguram Grotto (石窟庵): Inside the grotto, there is a giant Buddha carved from a single piece of granite. It also contains numerous sculptures depicting various Buddhist figures.
Donggung Palace (东宫) and Wolji Pond (月池): These two locations are enjoyable for nighttime visits. Donggung Palace was the secondary palace for the crown prince of the Silla Dynasty, and Wolji Pond is an artificial pond that served as a recreational area for the Silla royal family.

There is no airport in Gyeongju. Therefore, transportation here mainly relies on the Korea Train Express (KTX) and buses. With the Gyeongju City Map, you will have a clear understanding of the transportation methods.
KTX - New Gyeongju Station: This station is an important high-speed rail hub connecting major cities such as Seoul and Busan. It is located at 80 Singyeongju Station Road, Gancheon-eup, Gyeongju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do. The station is in the southwest direction of Gyeongju city and is about a 30-minute bus ride from downtown Gyeongju.
Bus - Intercity Bus Terminal & Gyeongju Express Bus Terminal: Because the train station is some distance from downtown Gyeongju, you can choose to take a bus.
Pay attention to the directional difference between the two bus stations: The Intercity Bus Terminal goes towards Busan, while the Gyeongju Express Bus Terminal goes directly towards Seoul.
P.S. For sightseeing within Gyeongju city, bus numbers 10 and 11 pass by attractions such as Bulguksa Temple.

Gyeongju to Seoul Map
Seoul is located northwest of Gyeongju, with a direct distance of approximately 280 kilometers between the two cities. The most convenient way to travel from Gyeongju to Seoul is by taking the KTX high-speed train, which departs from New Gyeongju Station and arrives at Seoul Station in about 2 hours.
If you choose to take a long-distance bus, the journey takes approximately 3.5-4 hours.

Gyeongju to Busan Map
Busan is located southeast of Gyeongju, approximately 80 kilometers away. The most common transportation method from Gyeongju to Busan is the intercity bus, which takes about 1 hour.
Alternatively, you can take the KTX train, with direct KTX trains departing from New Gyeongju Station to Busan Station, taking approximately 45-50 minutes.

Gyeongju to Jeju Map
Jeju Island is located approximately 300 kilometers southwest of Gyeongju, at sea. The most common way to travel from Gyeongju to Jeju Island is to first take a long-distance bus to Busan Gimhae International Airport, which takes about 1.5 hours, and then transfer to a flight, which takes about 50 minutes. The entire journey takes approximately 3-4 hours.

Andong is located inland northwest of Gyeongju, approximately 70 kilometers away. The most convenient way to travel from Gyeongju is by intercity bus, which takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes.
