Cycling
Heimahe is the starting point of the western route around the Qinghai Lake, offering a picturesque 70-kilometer ride to Bird Island. Lake Sacrifice Culture

Originally rooted in Mongolian beliefs, the Lake Sacrifice tradition gradually evolved into a shared custom among the Mongolian and Tibetan communities living around the lake. The Lake Sacrifice usually takes place on the 15th day of the 7th lunar month every year.
On this day, local farmers and herders from around the lake and surrounding areas kneel before Qinghai Lake, bowing their heads and reciting blessings. They also place treasure vases in the lake to pray for protection and peace from the lake deity.
