Day 2 Hong Kong Golf Tour | Kau Sai Chau Public Golf Course (54 Holes)

Golf at The Jockey Club, Kau Sai Chau Public Golf Course (Since 1995), Hong Kong’s Only Public Golf Gem & Best Public Golf Course in Asia Pacific! Set in the spectacular Sai Kung Peninsula with sweeping views of the South China Sea, Kau Sai Chau offers three world-class 18-hole courses, namely the East Course (Design by Nelson and Haworth), North Course and South Course (Both Designed by Gary Player). The North and South courses offer stunning sea views and challenging layouts, while the East course is more forgiving, making it ideal for beginners.

The East Course (Par 72; 6,640 Yard) is popular for its tricky layout, stunning mountainous backgrounds, and expansive views of the ocean. With its hilly terrain, this course can only be played with golf carts.

The North Course (Par 72; 6,719 yards) with a real links feel to it is an excellent test for golfers of all levels. A walking course with rugged terrain which provide high-quality, easily accessible, and reasonably priced golf for the people of Hong Kong.

The South Course (Par 69; 5,906 yards; coastal cliffs) offers options for both walkers and golf cart riders; additionally, nine-hole and twilight rounds are also available for playing in the afternoon.

Located on Kau Sai Chau Island and accessible via a short ferry ride, the course offers jaw-dropping views of the South China Sea, rolling hills, and lush greenery. The Kau Sai Chau Public Golf Course was the first golf course in China to be certified as an Audubon Co-operative Sanctuary for Wildlife and first golf course in Asia Pacific to be certified by the Golf Environment Organization. Ideal for players seeking challenging yet affordable rounds, with ferry rides adding adventure.

Why Kau Sai Chau Public Golf Course?
1.Advantages:
Top 100 Golf Courses in Asia. Hong Kong’s only public course, offering rare access without membership.  It offers breathtaking views of the Sai Kung Peninsula, a UNESCO Global Geopark. 30-minute ferry from Sai Kung Pier (downtown Hong Kong: 1 hour). Solar-powered carts, wildlife conservation areas. Affordable access with world-class design.
2.Hosted Championships: Hong Kong PGA Championship, Kau Sai Chau International Amateur Open, and junior tournaments.
3.Disadvantages: Peak-hour crowds: Weekends book out weeks ahead; limited tee times for non-residents. The ferry ride, while scenic, can add extra travel time. Exposed coastal winds on South Course challenge accuracy. No luxury amenities: Basic clubhouse; no on-site hotel or spa.
4.Facilities: Pro shop, driving range, and casual seaside restaurant. Free shuttle buses between courses and ferry pier. Equipment rentals: Clubs, carts, and GPS-enabled trolleys.
5.Feedback: “Unreal ocean views - like playing golf in a postcard!” “South Course’s cliffside holes are worth the ferry ride alone.” “Best value in Hong Kong, but book early - it’s packed!” “Gary Player’s design tests every club in your bag.” “Windy conditions make every round a new challenge.” “The North Course is challenging yet fair, while the South Course offers longer holes and fantastic landscapes.” “The ferry ride to the course is a unique and relaxing way to start the golfing day.” "The variety of courses provides a great challenge for all skill levels." "Excellent value for the quality of the courses and facilities."  "The public accessibility makes it a welcoming place for golfers of all backgrounds."

Day 3 Hong Kong Golf Tour | Discovery Bay Golf Club (27 Holes)

Golf at Discovery Bay Golf Club (Since 1983), one of Southeast Asia’s premier golfing destinations & Hong Kong’s Family-Friendly Golf Oasis! A private course (member-only) with challenging fairways and panoramic views of Discovery Bay and the South China Sea. Discovery Bay Golf Club is known for its family-friendly atmosphere and accessible golf within a planned community setting.

Designed by renowned golf course architect Robert Trent Jones Jr., Discovery Bay Golf Club offers three 9-hole courses with ocean views: Diamond Course (Par 36, 3,485 yards), Jade Course (Par 36, 3,501 yards), and Ruby Course (Par 36, 3,482 yards). These courses can be played in various combinations, creating a flexible and unique 18-hole layout every time. It is perfect for beginners, juniors, or a relaxed round.

The Diamond Course, with its dramatic elevation changes and quickly sloping greens, is regarded as the most challenging layout among the three. The Ruby Course is less difficult off the tee and has incredible views from its lofty elevations. The Jade Course, unlike the previous two, features more water and more challenging dogleg holes.

Nestled on Lantau Island, this casual gem is only 10 minutes from Hong Kong Disneyland, and 20 minutes from Hong Kong International Airport, and a 25-minute drive from the Central financial district. Ideal for travelers seeking laid-back play amid mountain and sea vistas, or families mixing golf with theme park fun.

Why Discovery Bay Golf Club?
1.Advantages:
Lantau Peak and South China Sea backdrops on every hole. An escape from the busy city. Discovery Bay Golf Club is located about 20 km from Hong Kong Airport and only about 10 km from Hong Kong Disneyland, so it is very convenient for you to travel.
2.Hosted Championships: The club has hosted several prestigious local and regional tournaments, including Hong Kong Golf Association events and corporate championships. Junior golf clinics and corporate charity events; no pro tournaments due to its short layout.
3.Disadvantages: Ferry or transportation is needed to access Discovery Bay from other parts of Hong Kong. Not for pros: Par-3 only, limited to 130-yard max holes. Green Fees are relatively high compared to public courses in Hong Kong. Undulating fairways and slopes may pose challenges for less experienced players.
4.Facilities: Free shuttle buses across Discovery Bay’s car-free community. Among top amenities available are a clubhouse, Chinese and Western dining options, a driving range, a swimming pool, tennis courts, a luxurious private event room, and mahjong rooms. A range of leisure facilities like tennis court, swimming pool and favorable restaurant etc. are all provided.
5.Feedback: "Perfect for kids’ first golf experience - scenic and stress-free!" "A quick, fun round before hitting Disneyland." "Don’t expect championship golf, but great for beginners." "The Ruby Course is my favorite - tricky greens and stunning vistas make it unforgettable." "The staff and facilities are top-notch, and the clubhouse is perfect for relaxing after a game." "A great place to play golf within a beautiful residential setting." "The 9-hole combinations offer variety and fun." "Ideal for a relaxed round of golf with friends and family." "Pristine conditions year-round, but book early to avoid weekend rush." "Staff are attentive, and facilities are top-notch, though green fees are steep."

Philippines Discovery Tour!

Asia Odyssey Travel has acquired Philippines Discovery Tours (which was the group that supported our trip)! The entire process was AMAZING!! We went on a 14 day (4 island) trip, so a lot of coordinating! Leo from Asia Odyssey helped me with the initial reservations. As the vacation approached, Leo created group chats on WhatsApp with each Island Tour Coordinator who was my point person for each island. They were AMAZING!!!!!! Communication was superb! Honestly, I can't wait to book another trip with this company! I was traveling with my young daughter so it was really important to have good coordination & communication so I could enjoy this trip! Truly an incredible experience!!!!

Bloody brilliant Singapore trip!
I just had an awesome 4 day in Singapore! The city is super clean and modern, but what really stood out were the gardens. Gardens by the Bay was mind-blowing, especially the Cloud Forest and Flower Dome. The Night Safari was also a unique. Animals looked happy. The food was amazing too - so much variety! Guide was top bloke, knew his stuff. Driver, smooth as, got us everywhere safe. Owen, our Travel consultant, sorted everything, no hassles. I'd definitely come back and recommend this tour to anyone. Cheers.
