The villa is located above the lagoon and facing the outside. The interior decoration is inspired by local marine creatures, making it an incredibly luxurious waterfront retreat. It is a common water house type with glass floor. The advantages are that it is the cheapest, with many corals and fish, and fully facing the sea. The disadvantage is that it is on the side where water planes take off and land, and some corals are exposed at low tide, so be careful of being scratched by corals. Fantastic in every way

Just finished a 5 night stay at the W in Maldives. Truly an amazing experience. The resort is gorgeous, the food fantastic and the staff phenomenal. The overwater rooms are tastefully decorated and private, the pool inviting and the snorkeling some of the best we’ve seen right off the beach.

My wife and I have had the privilege of traveling the world staying at a number of 5-star hotels and we remarked this one is probably the best stay of any hotels. The staff made the difference. To a person, they were always smiling, helpful and did their best to anticipate our every needs. Speaking with them, they seem happy at the hotel and a great many have been working this resort for over 10 years. I can’t say enough good things about this resort. PS: be mindful seaplanes are required to arrive here and their service isn’t to this level of quality… but the hotel took care of the details.

Great experience - room, food, reef, excursions all top-notch!

We chose to stay here due to many reviews listing it as having one of the best house reefs in the Maldives; this was pretty accurate, especially since there were 4 resident sea turtles - one could see/swim near one or more nearly daily if in the right areas of the reef. The property itself was excellent - which some unusual touches such as the beach villas being 2-stories (with a sort of balcony/chill area on the 2nd level). The staff were universally excellent, the food was great - the breakfast buffet was lavish, and even included bottomless champagne. We did a few sea excursions, the guide and staff were excellent once again, and we were lucky enough to see a whale shark (our guide was super helpful helping us get to the shark before the poor critter was mobbed by people on much larger/more crowded boats). We were also very lucky to not just see a few dozen mantas, but they even swam around and with us, seeming both playful and curious. The guide said so many together is unusual, but that generally, mantas are normally spotted on these excursions, so the resort location is good for that.

Staying at W Maldives is worth a bucket-list !

One of my most memorable travels is our week long trip to Maldives. The W at Maldives was an amazing experience. Their resort can be rated as one of the best in services and comfort. We had booked in a villa in the ocean. The villa was beyond beautiful. It had a huge living cum bedroom space with a cutout in the floor from where you could watch fish in the sea. It had a huge deck in the back with its own infinite pool and a ladder leading straight into the ocean. Another unique feature was the cantilevered hammock from the deck into the ocean.
W offers free snorkelling experience. They also had great restaurants and a spa.
Another interesting free service provided was a photo clicked by their in- house professional photographer.
W is very well connected to the main city Male’ via their seaplanes which was another new experience for us to cherish.
All in all this visit is worth a bucket-list !

good memories

This trip to W Maldives was very enjoyable. We stayed here in a sand house for two days and a water house for two days. Time flies very fast. The service staff here are very good. I like to say hello to them here every day. I feel very close and the Chinese service provides us with a lot of convenience. In addition, the shallow environment here is also great. You don't have to go far to see all kinds of small fish. And this is indeed a veritable honeymoon island. My boyfriend proposed to me on an uninhabited island here, so we left a very important and sweet memory here.
