Tibet Travel Reviews (with Photos)

First of all I have to say I've planned this trip for a very long time and I was soooooo lucky to find Asia Odyssey Tours , when I Start to plan this trip i send them a couple of questions and they answered super fast compared to other 2 agencies I was thinking to use, so this make me choose them right away and I have direct communication with Kayla (She is the best!!!l) ... I will enumerate all the things that can make you choose them .....
1. Most important.. Great, immediately and Clear communication. ( a travel agency that Answer all your questions will make your life so much easier )
2. Helpful... Gotta say Kayla (AOT sales representative) save me more than twice when I experienced problems that didn't had anything to do with the trip ( Chinese Visa, emergency travel to another city in China)
3. Organized... Well , This is by far one of the best organized tours I have take ,
Everything on time, food ready where it was programmed , they expected us at the places that were scheduled, I have travel to 55 countries so I know what I'm talking about. SUSAN was the name of our tour guide and she was more than wonderful, complete knowledge of what she was talking about and also a lot of experience in the travel agency business (16 years) , make our life so much easier.
4. What you paid is what you get.. well this is very important, as many times you paid for one thing and you have that feeling that it wasn't worth it, well with Asian Odyssey Travel you get what you pay.
5. Resolving problems/issues... well , this is the real deal , when you have an agency that helps you when unexpected trouble hits you... Kayla solve all our problems because of a problem not related to them or the trip. She and the agency went beyond their duty to help us to solve several issues non related to the group, this is by far the best point why I would choose them again.

About the trip.... well, what else I can add of this magnificent place, I think choosing the correct agency will decide your experience in China.

My guide was excellent. He really took the time to listen to me and understood exactly what was my expectations. I will certainly take my family next time, a piece that f history and lessons to remember…Beautiful and inspiring!

It was a very memorable trip and there were many highlights. From visiting the monasteries in Lhasa, overnight in the Mount Everest base camp at 5200m and watching sunrise on Mount Everest peak the next morning, to seeing the Tibet grassland and Namsto lake, the highest salt water lake in the world. The tour guide spoke good English and explained the sights well.

Special mention and thanks need to be made to Mandy at Asia Odyssey. She answered all the questions l had on the tour and payments. She obtained the Tibet travel permit for me and helped me with the apps that I needed for travelling in China and saw to it that l got picked up at the airport as arranged.

My trip to Tibet was quite amazing. About half a year in advance I already wrote an Email to Asia Odyssey, showing interest in a Tibet trip. Soon afterwards, I was contacted by a personal travel consultant Kyle Li. Kyle took care of everything and worked out the perfect trip for me. He organised all the permits I needed to visit Tibet and the many beautiful sights there. When I couldn't find any more train tickets from Xining, Qinghai, to Lhasa, Tibet, he was able to get me a ticket in no time at all. Keep in mind, this was during the chinese summer holidays, when millions, if not tens of millions of people are on the move.
Everything in Tibet was also taken care of. We had a great tour guide there, called Lobsang. Lobsang was with us all the way through the end. He could tell us many amazing things about Tibet and about the sights ww visited. It was also really nice, hanging out with the other members of the tour group.
I don't think I'll ever forget my night at the Everest Base Camp, which has been one of, if not the most amazing experience of my life. Remember though, that there is no guarantee that you will see Everest, since the view from the Base Camp is highly dependent on the weather. We got lucky though.

I had the most amazing time on my Tibet and Everest Base Camp trip. My agent Mandy was excellent. She is very responsive and supported me through all my questions as a solo traveller. I met so many wonderful people in my tour group and our tour guide Susan was the best! She is very caring, funny, knowledgeable and kept us all safe and entertained. This is one of my most memorable trips, I highly recommend booking with Asia Oddysey!

Our trip was the 7 day Lhasa to Kathmandu combined with a custom made trip to Chengdu and ride on the high altitude train to Lhasa. The experience was incredible. Our tour organizer Jamie was a gem and left no stone unturned to cater to all our requests in order to make are stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Our guides Rosa (in Chengdu) and Susan (for the Lhasa trip) were simply wonderful. We are senior citizens and they went out of their way to ensure our safety and comfort even when we were in the midst of landslides and natural disasters. The three ladies are absolute gems.

I got a tour to Tibet and had a great experience.
From the start I was contacted by Fox and he took care of everything for me: visa entries for Tibet, flight tickets, contact with local guides, instructions about how to dress up appropriately and how to handle altitude sickness.
It was a great experience to have someone attentive with the trip organisation.
 
During my days in Tibet I was in a small group with people that didn’t speak English. Only the guide would speak English, and our driver, although he wouldn’t speak English, he was also super friendly and attentive to my needs.
The food and suggestions offered by the tour guide were always on point. I do feel my guide went the extra mile to make me comfortable, maybe because I had no one else to talk to. I think if there were more English speakers in the group to share this experience with, it would have been a plus. Nevertheless it was a great trip and I totally recommend it.
Ps: I went as well to the Everest base camp and bought an oxygen tank that it was too big, I bought it as precaution and I do refrer a little because it was expensive. I saw people there with ones half of the size I got. If you don’t have many altitude symptoms, a medium tank is enough to provide peace of mind.

I went on the 5 Days Lhasa-Yamdroktso Tour. The itinerary is well planned. You get to see the major attractions in Lhasa. The visit to the Lake and monastery is good addition to this introductory tour. I definitely recommend this to people who wants to visit Tibet with limited time. I booked this as extension as my China tour and my agent, Victor, did an excellent job and made sure everything ran smoothly.

What can I say??? I had a great tour with Asia Odyssey Travel! My friend and I really had a great (and easy) time discovering Tibet. Also, we wanna thank Kayla, our travel consultant, for arranging everything from getting our train tickets to organizing our tour.
