    1. What are the must-visit photography locations in China?
    icon

China offers a plethora of must-visit photography locations. From the iconic Great Wall and the picturesque Li River in Guilin to the mystical Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and the cultural wonders of the Terracotta Warriors in Xi'an, there is no shortage of captivating subjects. Other notable sites include the Potala Palace in Lhasa, the Zhangye Danxia Landform in Gansu, the Jiuzhaigou Valley in Sichuan, the Yellow Mountains in Anhui, and the Chengdu Panda Base in Sichuan. These destinations provide stunning landscapes, cultural landmarks, and unique wildlife opportunities for photographers to capture the beauty and diversity of China.

  • icon
    2. What is the best time of year to visit for photography purposes?
    icon

The best time of year to visit China for photography depends on the specific locations and subjects you wish to capture. Here are some general guidelines:

Spring (April to June): This season offers pleasant weather, blooming flowers, and vibrant landscapes. It's an excellent time to photograph cherry blossoms, rapeseed fields, and cultural festivals.

Autumn (September to November): The autumn foliage and golden hues make this season ideal for capturing stunning landscapes. It's also a great time for cultural events and harvest scenes.

Winter (December to February): Winter can provide unique photography opportunities, especially in northern China, where you can capture snowy landscapes, ice festivals, and traditional winter activities.

Summer (July to August): Summer in China can be hot and humid, but it's a good time to explore regions like Tibet, where you can photograph clear skies, vast grasslands, and vibrant festivals.

It's important to research the specific locations you plan to visit and consider their climate, seasonal attractions, and potential crowds. Some China destinations, such as high-altitude areas or popular tourist spots, may have specific peak seasons or weather considerations that can impact your photography experience.

  • icon
    3. Do I need to have professional photography equipment?
    icon

No, professional photography equipment is not necessary for a photography tour in China. You can capture remarkable images with various types of cameras, including smartphones, as long as you have manual control over settings like aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. The key is to understand your equipment's capabilities and use your creativity to capture stunning shots.

  • icon
    4. Can I customize the itinerary based on my specific photography interests?
    icon

Yes, many photography tour operators in China offer the option to customize the itinerary based on your specific photography interests. They understand that different photographers have unique preferences and may want to focus on specific subjects or locations.

During the booking process, you can discuss your photography goals and interests with the tour operator. They can provide guidance and suggestions based on their knowledge and experience. You can also inquire about any specific sites or locations you wish to include in the itinerary.

Customizing the itinerary allows you to prioritize the photography opportunities that align with your interests, whether it's capturing landscapes, cultural landmarks, wildlife, or street photography. The tour operator can work with you to design an itinerary that maximizes your chances of capturing the images you desire.

Keep in mind that itinerary customization may depend on factors such as the availability of certain locations, travel logistics, and feasibility. It's recommended to communicate your preferences early in the planning process to ensure the tour operator can accommodate your requests and make the necessary arrangements.

By customizing the itinerary, you can tailor your China photography tour to suit your specific photography interests, helping you make the most of your experience and capture images that truly resonate with you.

What a great experience!!!!
First of all I have to say I've planned this trip for a very long time and I was soooooo lucky to find Asia Odyssey Tours , when I Start to plan this trip i send them a couple of questions and they answered super fast compared to other 2 agencies I was thinking to use, so this make me choose them right away and I have direct communication with Kayla (She is the best!!!l) ... I will enumerate all the things that can make you choose them .....
1. Most important.. Great, immediately and Clear communication. ( a travel agency that Answer all your questions will make your life so much easier )
2. Helpful... Gotta say Kayla (AOT sales representative) save me more than twice when I experienced problems that didn't had anything to do with the trip ( Chinese Visa, emergency travel to another city in China)
3. Organized... Well , This is by far one of the best organized tours I have take ,
Everything on time, food ready where it was programmed , they expected us at the places that were scheduled, I have travel to 55 countries so I know what I'm talking about. SUSAN was the name of our tour guide and she was more than wonderful, complete knowledge of what she was talking about and also a lot of experience in the travel agency business (16 years) , make our life so much easier.
4. What you paid is what you get.. well this is very important, as many times you paid for one thing and you have that feeling that it wasn't worth it, well with Asian Odyssey Travel you get what you pay.
5. Resolving problems/issues... well , this is the real deal , when you have an agency that helps you when unexpected trouble hits you... Kayla solve all our problems because of a problem not related to them or the trip. She and the agency went beyond their duty to help us to solve several issues non related to the group, this is by far the best point why I would choose them again.

About the trip.... well, what else I can add of this magnificent place, I think choosing the correct agency will decide your experience in China.

Unforgettable journey in Tibet China
It was a very memorable trip and there were many highlights. From visiting the monasteries in Lhasa, overnight in the Mount Everest base camp at 5200m and watching sunrise on Mount Everest peak the next morning, to seeing the Tibet grassland and Namsto lake, the highest salt water lake in the world. The tour guide spoke good English and explained the sights well.

Special mention and thanks need to be made to Mandy at Asia Odyssey. She answered all the questions l had on the tour and payments. She obtained the Tibet travel permit for me and helped me with the apps that I needed for travelling in China and saw to it that l got picked up at the airport as arranged.
