Many people prefer to visit Beijing in March and April when it is much cooler and not crowded. The average temperature at this time reaches approximately 15 degrees centigrade by day falling to a low of around 5 degrees centigrade at night.

During spring (April, May) and autumn/fall (September, October) the weather is most pleasant, and the views are most spectacular, on average. During summer, expecially from July to August (the rainiest part), it is hot and humid. During winter, Beijing is very cold and dry, with a little snow.

3) Wear flat shoes or sports casual shoes, and don't climb in high heels, otherwise you may hurt you feet, and it is not safe.

4) If you hike with you kids, it is important to ask them not to chase each other on the steep parts of a Great Wall section.

5) Do not climb alone, try to find an experienced guide

When you have 5 or more days, you can travel to another city like Xian by high speed train after touring Beijing.

AOT made all the arrangements for high-speed train to Beijing where we were met by our guide and driver. Our guide was excellent and all the arrangements were the same. Next was a Yangtze River cruise on the century victory. Beautiful accommodations and a lovely cruise. After the cruise we spent 3 days Chongqing. Again, our guides were excellent.
